Kappa Kappa Psi is more than just an honorary fraternity - it is a Brotherhood! Those that enter into this chapter and this fraternity are entering into a strong Brotherhood that they will know for the rest of their lives. Members of Epsilon Kappa experience this brotherhood on all three levels of the fraternity.

The Brotherhood of Epsilon Kappa

The experience of Brotherhood begins when a prospective member accepts their bid and becomes part of a Candidate Class. During this process, Candidates are always around each other, working together towards the common goal of becoming Brothers of the EK Chapter. By the end of the process the class becomes a tight knit group of Brothers.

The EK Chapter also strives to foster Brotherhood throughout its activities. A sense of family is forged when working together on projects, while on road trips to District/National events, or in just having fun together outside of school and the fraternity. But to help ensure that Brothers develop strong ties to everyone in the chapter, certain activities and events are dedicated solely to hanging out in a fun and safe environment.

Some of these activities have included picture scavenger hunts, eating meals together, super bowl parties, and Psi Wars (a game of assasin where water guns are the weapon of choice), among a myriad of other Brotherhood Activities that the chapter has throughout the year.

Brotherhood in the Southwest District and Across the Nation

One of the many benefits of this chapter being involved on the District and National levels is that members get to experience the Brotherhood within the Southwest District, and across the Nation.

At District Workshops, National Leadership Symposiums, and District/National Covnentions, members of EK meet Brothers from New Mexico, Arkansas, Lousisiana, Texas and Oklahoma and other parts of the country. This bonding begins during workshop/business sessions, in committees, playing together in Reading Band, or when just walking the display room. The bonding is furthered during the time outside of these events, for example during lunch/dinner breaks, or when hanging out at the hotel after the day's business has concluded.

Upon returning home from these trips, Brothers often find that their facebook accounts are flooded with new friend requests. Thanks to social networking, Brothers across the District and Nation are able to easily keep up with each other until they can hang out again at the next District or National event.

Maintaining a strong sense of Brotherhood is important to the Epsilon Kappa Chapter, because it is one of the most rewarding aspects of fraternity life. During a member's time in the chapter they will forge bonds that will last them a lifetime.
